Came here to celebrate my birthday and had such an amazing & memorable time. Our reservation was at 5 pm on a Sunday- they had just opened and we were the only ones there for the first hour or so, which I loved. The ambiance was great, altho it was a little dark for my liking, it felt very intimate and our server was super attentive, friendly & knowledgeable about the menu. We got the yum cha set, Sichuan wontons in chili oil, dan dan noodles, squid ink fried rice as well as a whole flaming peking duck. Everything was flavorful & delicious, even the complimentary duck wings (marinated in wine sauce) was good. I especially liked the Sichuan wontons & fried ham sui gok (dumpling). The tableside flaming duck experience was incredible- the duck was crispy, tasty, with very little fat, cooked and sliced to perfection & we also enjoyed the soup. Worth every penny if you ask me- $98 (served three ways: roasted duck, smoked duck & duck broth soup) whereas it's $160 @ Hutong. We ended our dinner with all the staff singing happy bday to me- they brought out a decorated slice of cheesecake with a sparkler candle on top and also put a bday sash on me making my celebration that much more unforgettable~ it was definitely a pleasant, unexpected surprise. Highly recommend this place :)
I had the pleasure of dining at Golden Wuish tonight. My partner and I got the half duck, which was perfectly roasted with crispy skin that melted in your mouth. Personally I prefer buns to wraps, but the tender meat made up for it. Every bite was a delight! The soup was tasty as well, not too salty. Tiramisu for dessert was a perfect end to the experience. Our server, Jason, was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, ensuring our dining experience was seamless from start to finish. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean. The music was a bit too loud in the beginning but mellowed out as the night went on.
Known for their Peking Duck, Golden Wuish really executes the traditional dish with full authenticity and adds a bit of flare. The food is on point and full of great flavour and the decor to match. For those looking for a great ambiance, a dinner date or even a corporate outing, this is a great spot. Taste: 5/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5 Service: 4.5/5 Value for money: 3.5/5 (the meals are a bit on the pricier side) We had the squid ink fried rice which was extremely delicious, or course the duck which again is on point and lastly gai lan which was cooked to perfection.
Came here after cocktails at the bar at Manhatta seeing there was an open reservation and it was walking distance. Arrives at 7:45, but wasn't sat until 8:30 as they had a lot of tables not turning over apparently. Turned out to be well worth the wait. The flaming duck was seriously fantastic and I think a bargain for the price. The soup they brought out after was also very good. The service was on point once we finally got sat down and they were attentive and kept the drinks flowing. Would definitely recommend this spot if you are searching for a last minute reservation.
